Privacy Statement

This data protection declaration applies to the website www.ferienhaus-berg.at – responsible for the content is Mr. Reinhard Gnadenberger. We have written and published this text (December 2022 version, valid immediately and until further notice), in accordance with the requirements of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU-DSGVO), in terms that are as easy to understand as possible, to show, which personal data may be collected as part of our website, in what form this information is used and for how long it is stored.

1 Automatic saving of data

When you visit websites on the internet, certain data is automatically generated, stored in log files and also processed on a case-by-case basis. When you visit our website, the following data, among others, can be logged and transmitted to our hosting provider:

  • The URL – this is the address called up
  • Your browser and its version number
  • The reference URL, i.e. from where you where forwarded
  • Your IP address
  • Your device and operating system
  • Date and time of access

2 Storage duration

Generally speaking, we are always trying to delete personal data as soon as they are no longer relevant for the purpose of the original collection. If personal data was collected with the user’s consent, we delete it immediately after any revocation of the consent – we also do this as soon as there is no longer a legal basis for data processing. We would like to point out that in certain cases deletion may not be possible or only possible to a limited extent, for example if a legal obligation (statutory retention period, etc.) has to be fulfilled. We also reserve the right to store contact data for the purpose of communication or for the fulfillment of our services, if necessary for the duration of the business relationship.

3 Cookies & external media

Cookies are small text files that store basic information about your website visit. This enables functions such as the “recognition” of users to ensure smooth and personalized use of the website.

For technical reasons, our website uses essential cookies that are absolutely necessary for the operation of our online presence (set, for example, by our CMS WordPress). In principle, we try to keep the use of cookies to a minimum. In any case, when you visit our website for the first time, you have decision-making authority – a so-called cookie consent banner appears and within this context you have the opportunity to make individual data protection settings. In addition to consenting to the setting of cookies, this also includes the integration of external websites using scripts (e.g. social media or video platforms), which you can accept or block there.

In addition to the settings in the cookie consent banner, you also have other options on the World Wide Web to prevent tracking or unwanted data storage. In your browser settings you will find options that generally prevent the setting of cookies and avoid tracking. There are also corresponding plugins/addons for modern browsers (e.g. Google Chrome, Safari or Mozilla Firefox) that promote data protection. However, we would like to expressly point out that in this case many websites can no longer be used to their full extent.

WPML (we use this software to enable multilingualism of our website) uses cookies to determine the current language of the visitor, the language last visited and the language of the users who have logged in. As you use the plugin, WPML will share data related to the site via the installer. No data is shared by the user himself. WPML String Translation will send all strings to WPML’s advanced translation editor and to the deployed translation services.

4 Encryption via TLS: SSL certificate

Our website has a valid SSL certificate issued by DigiCert Inc. Put simply, this means that the data transmission is encrypted and is therefore better protected against unauthorized access by third parties during the transmission process.

For example, you can recognize a TLS-encrypted website by the “https://” at the beginning of the URL. In addition, modern browsers display a small padlock symbol and may indicate a “secure connection”. Whenever you enter your data on the Internet or carry out payment transactions in a web shop, you should ensure that the SSL connection is active.

5 Website Analytics

Our website administrator uses the privacy-friendly web analytics tool Plausible.io from Estonia/EU to collect basic usage statistics. This analysis tool does not use cookies, access is only logged via IP address (in anonymous form) and user agent. More information can be found in the Plausibe.io data policy.

6 Your rights according to GDPR

According to the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the following rights with regard to your personal data, which we would like to expressly point out at this point:

  • Right to information about all stored data about you (Article 15 GDPR)
  • Right to correction of the stored data (Article 16 GDPR)
  • Right to erasure aka “right to be forgotten” (Art. 17 GDPR)
  • Right to restriction of processing (Article 18 GDPR)
  • Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
  • Right to object to your consent (Art. 21 GDPR).

In the event of a complaint regarding data protection, you can contact the responsible authority. In Austria, this has been the Austrian Data Protection Authority (DSB), Barichgasse 40-42, 1030 Vienna since January 1, 2014. The data protection authority can be reached by email at dsb@dsb.gv.at and by phone at +43 1 52 152-0.

7 Where we send your data and who has access, if any

In principle, we never pass on your data to unauthorized third parties and do our best to protect them to the best of our knowledge and belief – including with organizational and technical measures, as far as it is possible for us as an individual company. However, the aspects described above result in scenarios that could make your personal data accessible to third parties:

  • our hosting provider, World4You Internet Services, may process data in log files on the server (see Chapter 1)
  • Our website admin (Michael Schifflhuber, Markt 7, A-3213 Frankenfels) regularly carries out maintenance work (software updates and content management) in the backend
  • in the case of a booking directly on our website, data will be passed to our booking partner “Urlaub am Bauernhof”– you can find more information in their Privacy Policy
